      A huge amount of news is broadcasted all over the world every day. A large amount of news is broadcasted through social media, television, radio and newspapers. A number of fake news and true news are published among these news. Above are some of the news.

Real News    

1. Two people were killed when a three-                wheeler collided with the train running            from Maradana to Beliatta..


              Two people were killed when a three-wheeler collided with a train in Rathgama, Galle. The police mentioned that this morning (13th) when the three-wheeler was entering the railway line at Wijeratna Mawatha railway crossing, the three-wheeler collided with the train traveling from Maradana to Beliatta.

        One person died on the spot and the other person was seriously injured and died after being admitted to the Galle Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

       The deceased were residents of Galle Dodanduwa area.


2.The distribution of official election notices       to homes will end tomorrow......

      The postal department says that the delivery of official ballot notices to homes will be completed tomorrow (14).

     Senior Deputy Postmaster General Mr. Rajitha Ranasinghe mentioned that 80% of the official election notices have been distributed by now.

      He said that people who have not received the official ballot papers can verify their identity and get them from the nearest post office from the 18th to the 21st.


Fake News

1. The main candidate of the Republican                Party for the 2016 US presidential election        is a Sri Lankan....

          It seems that many people did not know that the person in that photo is Bobby Jindal, a politician of Indian origin, who served as the governor of the state of Louisiana in America from 2008 to 2016.


2. An invitation to Jerome Boateng, from the Sri      Lanka Football Federation to represent the      South Asian Games......



    It states that he was born in 1989 in a poor family in Matara area and was adopted by a German couple.

     It is not clear whether the above photo was posted just for fun, deliberately to mislead or to ridicule some party. Jerome Boateng, of African-German descent, was born in Berlin in 1988. His father is of Ghanaian origin and his mother is of German origin.

     It is also mentioned in the above photo that he was invited by the Sri Lanka Football Federation to represent the South Asian Games.

However, anyone who uses the internet can confirm that the personal information contained in the above photo about him is fake.
